Saamdu Chetri on the Technology for Peace and Happiness

Episode Summary

"How to practice both peace and happiness?" A big question but with a very simple answer. Do question every thought that passes you leading to words or action. No technology can help us change our processes; it arises from within. And if we change that through innovative education systems, we will be able to journey with happiness and peace. And the world will become a better stage for every sentient being to play on.

Episode Notes

Understanding peace and happiness, we realize that they are an integral part of each other. When we are happy, we are in peace. Or when we are in peace, we are in happiness. We also know from quantum physics that peace is the highest vibration of our energy, which has a hertz of 600 per second vibration, and beyond 700 hertz per second vibration is enlightenment, where we can be totally free from mental or physical effect from both inner and outer environments.

We all do not wish to be enlightened but look for easier ways in life to be happy and in peace. However, there's no quick fix for achieving peace or happiness. We need to free ourselves from any kind of attachment, be it emotional or material, and, we are very much in both of them.

Saamdu Chetri

Our great king signified how we all must serve a purpose, which is developed with values connecting kindness, equality, and humanity. So my first question is, "What is responsible innovation?" I understand that it means simply any innovation that does not harm humanity and nature but brings freedom, peace, and happiness to every sentient being on the planet Earth.

The second question is, "What stops us to be vibrating at such high levels of peace and happiness?" At the most, we reach to the willingness of the vibration and those we can go up to the acceptance and reasoning. They are very close to 500-hertz vibration per second, which is unconditional love and at 540 hertz per second is joy and could be translated into happiness.

First, take stock of a few of the innovations that have brought the world into sufferance. We all know for sure one is arms and ammunition and the second is genetically modified seeds for greed and not hunger. Both of these are discoveries for the one to rule the world. They have played havoc for the peace and happiness of all human beings, including sentient beings. They have been successful to destroy human habitats, the natural environment, and the minds and health of people in the world.

Science and technology have advanced, but many are oriented to the destructive side of humanity. A drone was simulated a few years ago with three grams of saved explosives loaded in it with a profile of a statue and released. It was programmed to hit the statue and it just flew and hit the forehead of the statue and the head exploded. The drone is the size of a thumb, hardly visible in the air and nothing can stop it from finding you. These are supposed to be built for eliminating the bad. Who is bad? All human beings are good. We need to cultivate it.

Often the goodness of each of us is hidden in the recess of our subconscious mind, opened from the sensitization of the environment we lived and does the paradigm that shifted our perceptions accordingly right from our childhood. In fact, right from our mother's womb. Further, the technological innovation that is so important has been distancing human beings through the digital divide and lesser physical contact. Can technology bring love, which is two levels of vibration below joy and peace? If it cannot reach the state of spreading unconditional love, we cannot imagine being in happiness and peace.

Third, the fossil fuel-run engines, be it vehicles or industries for food and energy generation are contributing to the rise in global warming and letting humans change their reality to be divided, greedy, competitive, comparing, complaining. Although, all such innovations may have been targeted towards the betterment of humanity. A professor doing a conference in South Korea in 2016 told us, "If we had the technology which just by the wink of our eyes everything is provided to you, it would bring happiness for humanity."

This I felt was the end of humanity and the beginning of the robotic world. AI is advancing at a fast pace and holograms are the upcoming future that is seen as beneficial today. It may bring more pain to humanity as we grow older in years to come. Famous people such as actors and doctors are useful as advertisements of all products that are harmful, shifting the paradigm of individuals to fall prey to such products and create a market for the economy. Once sick, the medical world from doctors' to Pharmas' benefits. This is our world of technology.

The fourth question is, "How can we reach that level of peace and happiness in hertz vibration?" We, as grownups today, have more than 52 trillion volts of equivalent energy in us. So why can we not vibrate to that level of love, joy, and peace? It is possible only when we eliminate the ignorance and delusion of our minds. And people begin to reach to get innate human potential, to question right from wrong, good from evil. Here, ethics and morals can help us with innovative technology. This is where education comes in and I'm happy and proud that the new education policy in India is targeted to reach the hilt of human awareness, monitoring children right from their childhood.

If there would be a technology to train the minds of every individual to ask questions, what she or he is believing, thinking, and acting, and accordingly guiding them, we would very quickly reach a peaceful and happy world. This may come, but it would take many more years to manifest, and as well, it will make a human being very, very dependent. The earliest and the easiest and the best is to produce a technology that helps guide a child as parents in human values for ethics and morals. It is not rocket science, rather a common-sense organized.

This is what we have failed because of greed, jealousy, pride, anger, excess of desires, blinded by delusion, and ignorance. If Buddha came back today, he would cry before he could find his own peace to help others overcome their sufferings. To a great account, the kind of education today makes everyone a product in the marketplace, competitive, shrewd, and greedy. It must change. It must help children to build their lives, not only living, they must be made to realize that life is more important than luxurious living. For example, the passion for what every child is born for must be found out. Technology can help here. Innovate it.

If we all learn to go back to the basics and organize, we will make a happier, peaceful, and sustainable world for us and the generations after us. It must all come home to us every day that we will be gone from this planet. If we remind ourselves as mortals, we may not do things that create unhappiness for ourselves and others. And if we try to organize the four dimensions of our inner self, one the heart is to love and bring passion in being. Head is to think and create a vision for ourselves and everyone connected to him or her. Spirit is to develop a consciousness and leave a legacy behind.

Finally, the soul can only live around us if we physically take care of ourselves with the right kind of food that does not bring harm to the self and others, including nature, and does not contribute directly or indirectly to global warming. And we must sleep eight hours to rejuvenate the body and mind. And do 13 minutes of sweating exercise with the use of our four limbs as opposed to that the technology may feed us doing nothing, but remember we are human beings and not robots.

Peace is not the absence of war alone. As we all know, it is when we are able to walk with freedom. There is respect for each other. We celebrate each other's culture and there is tolerance for one another or without one another. And everyone has a loving speech filled with love and gratitude. Jelled with this mastery, his holiness Thich Nhat Hanh said, "Peace in oneself is peace in the world." And true happiness is based on peace and that is when you are in freedom. Not what you understand of our unethical freedom; it is beyond the speech and conduct that we often see in journalism. His Holiness Dalai Lama said, "Peace does not fall from the sky. It is in our action." He also said, "Happiness is not ready-made. It comes from our own actions." In continuation, Mahatma Gandhi said, "Happiness is when what you think, speak, and actions are in harmony." On the other hand, Einstein said, "Happiness is in calmness and humility. And peace is not nearly the absence of war, but the presence of justice, of love, of order." In short, he said, "Of good governance, self as well as of the government."

Finally, all great leaders have said happiness is in the process. Like peace is, happiness is illusionary if it takes you to search outside of you. Why we all say and we all know that happiness and peace are within us. Happiness can be practiced as a skill and so can peace be. We must start developing the skills for peace and happiness, right from the mother's womb and in early-learning schools. It will bring a sea of change in one generation. Do we dare get rid of our delusion and greed? This is the inner technology that we must build with our children and ourselves.

Final question, "How to practice both peace and happiness?" A big question but with a very simple answer. Do question every thought that passes you leading to words or action. No technology can help us change our processes; it arises from within. And if we change that through innovative education systems, we will be able to journey with happiness and peace. And the world will become a better stage for every sentient being to play on.

Please allow me to conclude my talk with a song on happiness. "Happiness is here and now. I have dropped my worries. Nowhere to go, nothing to do, and I'm not in a hurry. Happiness is here and now, I have dropped my worries. Somewhere to go, something to do, but I'm not in a hurry." Thank you so much, Tashi Delek.
